The Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology in order to improve the quality of Higher Education to become a world-class university on June 08-09, 2023 held a book launch “Leadership Towards a World Class University”. The activity was held at the Novotel Tangerang hotel attended by the Higher Education Council as well as University Rectors and Polytechnic Directors within the Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology. The activity was opened by Plt. Director General of Higher Education and Research and Technology, Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc, DIC, Ph.D.
In his remarks, the Director General of Higher Education said that world-class universities are one of the main drivers that can support Indonesia’s transformation in developing into a developed and globally competitive country, so that all university leaders are expected to understand the context and challenges faced by universities in achieving world-class and the ability to analyze strategic issues relevant to university transformation and the urgency of universities becoming a World Class University (UBD).
Rector of Palangka Raya University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Salampak, M.S who was present as a participant, in the discussion and question and answer session before the Director General of Higher Education and the Higher Education Council (DPT) took the time to convey that the Government and the Ministry are more concerned in paying attention to universities in the regions, because it is very different both in terms of facilities and infrastructure for teaching and learning service providers, the form of attention from the Government and the Ministry will greatly support universities in the regions in the first step towards world-class universities.
The book launch event was filled with panel discussions divided into three topic sessions. The first topic discussed General Perspectives, Integrated, Talented HR and Funding, the second topic discussed University Governance and Transfer Technology, and the third topic discussed Research Outputs and Postgraduate Education.
